Feedback Unit 6 (Unit 5 review)

Unit five's topic covered complementary medicine, and the group I chose to evaluate was group three who researched adult women. The topic of choice was anxiety and the complementary approach was mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy.

The use of headings was pleasing to the eye and allowed readers to grasp what topic they could expect to be covered. The use of infographics and videos was well done, especially the video from Holland Hospital. YouTube can present much information, but knowing it's from an accredited facility and from medical personnel adds a level of trustworthiness to the media being presented. The use of in-text citations also appears to be correct. I especially enjoyed the infographics on mindfulness meditation and it's benefits as I have been a mindfulness meditator for nearly a decade and have reaped massive benefits from it.

I felt that some sentences were difficult to understand in regards to how the sentence was written, such as: many women may differ between genders for perception of anxiety (intro paragraph at top of page) and gender roles of women are more apt to report symptoms (in the GAD paragraph). I was slightly disappointed with the date of the sources for the mindfulness interventions since it is incredibly popular lately with a good deal of studies showing great impact recently (Winges Conflitti et al., 2024; Heinrich, et al., 2024; Hoge et al., 2024).     I especially loved the guided meditation that was offered at the bottom of the page; Kabat-Zinn is one of my favorite guides. I also loved how you went a step further and added aromatherapy as another piece of complementary medicine that can be utilized, especially in addition to meditation and with massage, both of which are usually wonderful for people who suffer from anxiety. Unfortunately, the page doesn't seem to be finished from what I am looking at (Monday 3/18/24 at 9CT) as there is text missing under the "disadvantages" heading. It also shows the video as private, so I was unable to click on it to view.
